INCIDENT AT a NEW KINO'S ROAD CLUB. Ernest Walter Ray (35), motor fitter, of 53 Fulham.
was charged with falsely representing himself to be police officer. -Robert Loudon, commercial traveller. of 40 Felden-street, Fulham, stated that the previous night prisoner entered the Soldiers and Sailors' Federation Club at 57 New King's-road, and called for drink. The stewardess asked him he a member, and he replied that he was. Asked to produce his membership card he said he had left it at home.
few minutes after ten the prisoner invited wit ness to have drink, but he pointed out he could get only tea and lemonade. The prisoner replied That's all right. p.c." Witness asked him to produce warrant card, but be said he had not it with him. Shortly afterwards the prisoner ran out of the club, but brought back by police officer. Michael John Printie, blind man, of 3A Haldane-road, Fulham, said he heard the prisoner Neill, 24B, said he duty at New King s-road when he the prisoner running, followed by another who shouted Stop him." He caught the prisoner at Waterford -road and took him back to the club.
In consequence of what he then told he took him into custody. The officer added that the prisoner appeared to have been drinking heavily. had known him for some years as a hard-working Boyd said he did not think the prisoner had any serious intent, but acted very foolishly. He would be dis charged. -In connection with this case, William Alexander Young (27), salesman, of 53 -road, Fulham, charged with obstructing the police.
Neill said he had Ray in custody and was surrounded by about 200 people, when Young pushed him and another officer. He was told to desist, but did not do said he asked by Ray's wife to find out what was the matter. -Mr. Boyd, remarking that the defendant behaved very foolishly, discharged him under the Probation of Offenders Act. -Before Mr.
